Up until now you've been doing your missions and battling, trying to get your SR to a decent level. And you've hopefully been doing pretty well. You may be battling 1 or 2 Levels above and/or below you, depending on your SR (Skill Rating). Guess what, that's all about to change. Level 125 is one of the deep, dark secrets of Vampire Wars. And it's a BIG one! Basically, when you hit Level 125 the Gates of Hell are opened. And you know, it used to be Level 70, so you've actually been given more time to get clan, abilities, minions, all the things you'll need as your base to build on to have a great clan. On the Combat List everyone from Level 125 to the highest of the high Levels can see you and attack you. Chances are, the 1,000+ Vampires won't come after you. But there's no guarantee. Oh, and this is the big time, meaning you will ALWAYS see and be seen by everyone 125 and above. If you have a very low or very high SR and you haven't prepared for it, you should be prepared to really get hammered. This is, after all, Vampire WARS. Very low SR? you'll be seen as an Energy Vamp (meaning you leveled up mostly via missions); Very high SR? you'll be seen as a battle monster and it will be assumed that you have all your Abilites and it makes you a very tasty target to increase other Vamps' SR. This will be especially true if, up to this point, you've been a serial/repeat attacker - you know, the "well I know they're zombie'd, but I'm getting blood and stats so I'll hit them 10 or 15 times". It's now payback time; a) because you do have a high SR and b) because you're more than likely made some enemies by battling unfairly.

Have 501 Clan

Get the point? It doesn't matter what Level the rest of your Clan is, though hopefully you will have higher Level Vampires in your Clan, either directly or through alliance. |

Energy - I'd say at least 200 or more, so you can get those Missions in between Combat (enjoy the break!) and preparing for Deathbringer and Vindicator Missions Attack - very subjective, but I'd say around 125 (your level) Defense - again, subjective, but I have it HIGHER than Attack (like 150 to 175) Health - don't have this too high - between 110 to 125 max if possible. Why? the more health, the more times you're gonna get attacked; and you can always "bathe in blood" to recharge your Health - don't use Favor Points! Rage - a mistake I made early on - you probably won't need more than 30 Rage and even that imho is a little high. Remember, Rage is how many times you can attack, that's it. Not how strong your attack is. That's what Attack stat's for. As with anything, ymmv, these are simply suggestions. There is the school of thought that says your A/D should be 2x your level. That may or may not be possible for you, but it's something to think about and work toward.
Abilities:
LEAVE YOUR EGO AND PRIDE AT THE DOOR! You are going to win some battles, but be prepared to lose a lot too. Along with some of your hard-earned (hopefully) SR. Don't worry, there's plenty of time to get that back up. I think I lost something like 400 SR in the first couple days. Yes it hurts to see your SR go down, your Combat losses and Deaths go up. But it's part of the Game! Learn to refresh the Combat page really, really fast. Like, when you see that page of 800+ Levels? RUN! Usually takes 3 to 4x before the page will change, but it will, honest. |

Is Level 125 scary? Yes. It IS a huge change; you're seeing 200+, 400+, 800+, etc. Level Vamps with amazing SR who you know can hand you your head without blinking. There's a very good chance that you're going to have to move right into Combat as soon as you log in. I normally had maybe 2 minutes if I was lucky before I started getting clobbered. Just fyi, it's not uncommon and you're not being personally picked on as a general rule. Let your Clan know you're hitting Level 125 and ask them nicely to please NOT send you anything for "Santa Pong". You do not have time to be messing about, writing down who sent what, then going through your list (if you've been smart and made one) of the Vamp name & ID and sending the Ability back to them. You are not being rude, you are in self-preservation mode and Clan will have to understand. If you are in a GOOD Clan not only will they understand, they will ask if you need any Abilities they may have extra of! But don't beg for things, ok? Post on your Clan Comments, post on your Wall and the Wall of anyone who keeps sending stuff, your FB Profile, ask other Vamps in your Clan who've been through Level 70 or Level 125 to talk to anyone who just won't listen or doesn't understand how crazy things are for you right now. There's another aspect to Level 125. It's kind of your graduation, you're more or less now an "adult" Vampire. This means the likelihood of now being asked to intervene for your lower Level Clan (little ones need protection!) if they're truly being bullied; you may find yourself in the middle of a Clan War, and they're just not always fun or easy. But you'll get to learn how to try to run interference, how to try to mediate if possible and even form new, good alliances. Yes, the above can and will be a headache and you'll find yourself sitting muttering at yourself "gods below, this is a game. How can people take it so personally or seriously?" . Well, it happens. The bottom line is, if you've prepared yourself as best you can, while still following your own game play style, you will survive Level 125 and all the rest. I owe a deep blood debt to the older, wiser Vampires who were kind enough to give me advice when I learned about Level 125 (at the time Level 70) - and only had about 10 Levels to try to prepare! They talked me off the ledge, tried to help and guide me. You know who you are and I thank you from the bottom of my cold, dead heart. This page is a way of "passing it on", but is primarily based on MY own experience with Level 70 and beyond. |
