If you are new to the world of Vampire Wars, welcome! Get ready for what could be the ride of your life. This is a great game! I've been asked "what's the point of the game?" The point of the game, at least the way I play, is to build the strongest, toughest vampire I can, gaining clan, making alliances, learning the art of mediation and diplomacy, interacting with "opponents" in combat and wall comments (and again, sometimes making new alliances), trading, making new friends and generally having fun. When you join the game, you will be walked through your first steps. These are: |
|
The Pain Begins - you Grow Fangs
Now it's time to choose your Vampire character name (please, no Vlad or variation, Dracula, anything Cullen - there are vamps who look for that name and will attack just because of it, Armand, Lestat or anything really common, ok?) and decide what type of Vampire you wish to be. |
| There are three types of Vampires, each having an "advantage". Choose wisely! |
|
Noble Vampire - Gains Blood from Minions Faster
Health regenerated 1 Point every 3 minutes Energy regenerated 1 Point every 5 minutes Rage regenerated 1 Point every 5 minutes Blood from Minions Paid every 54 minutes
Primevil Vampire - Gains Health Faster (Restore)
Modern Vampire - Gains Energy Faster (Restore)

When you start out, it will seem rather slow. Don't panic, don't think you've done something wrong or this stinks. Remember, you're just getting started. |

Spin the Wheel! This can be a great way to get a good start to your game for the day. And don't forget to ask clan to spin.
Bank your Blood You do this by simply clicking on the little blood drop next to the word Blood. A small window will pop out, click deposit. You will lose 10% of blood when depositing, but there is not penalty for withdrawing. DO NOT USE FAVOR POINTS TO "BUY" MORE BLOOD. It will come between doing Missions, buying Minions and Combat. Believe me, in time you will have more blood than you know what to do with!
![]() Check the Coffin That is the main page with your Newsfeed. You will want to be checking that regularly as you get Clan to see who is doing what and when. You will also see who you have battled, if someone has left a comment on your Wall, you've been Hit Listed (HL'ed), if clan needs "help" with a mission, etc.. For fighting purposes, the Newsfeed will let you know who and whether you won or lost. You can click on the opponent's name and be taken to their status page. Have a look at their Stats, then click on Comments. You can leave a Comment for anyone. If they are Clan, it will be free. If they are not, it will cost 1,000 blood. This can be a good way to get more Clan, depending on what you read and what you post. Try to always be polite, even if they aren't. If you see a ton of negative comments, that may not be someone you want to add to your Clan. ![]() Check for Blood Magic that is active from fellow Clan spinning Mandy's Wheel. If you are lucky enough to have an active Clan there should always be some Magic happening. You will see Active Magic just above your LEVEL info in the upper right corner. Click that and you'll be taken to the Active Magic so you can see what you've got and for how long. Do Missions I suggest, until you have all the Abilities you need and then want to go to Mission Mastery, to only do Missions that have the potential to give an Ability. It may take a little longer to level up, but you need all the Abilities you can lay hands on. This is especially true if you have good Magic happening!
Combat Hold on Sparky! I know, you want to get in there and kick some Vampire behind. But you are a fledgling, you are weak and you stand to just get pounded! Plus, you can't fight right away, the Game won't let you. Once you have, say, about 5 Levels, have been doing Missions, gaining Abilities, getting a bit more Attack, Defense, Energy (for Missions) and maybe a few Health points and at least some Minions under your belt, then by all means, get in there! Again, Bank your Blood BEFORE going into Combat. If you need to "bathe in blood" to get your Health back up because you still have Rage and want to battle more, a) there's a chance you've gotten Blood from Combat and b) you can always withdraw the needed amount from the Bank. DO NOT USE FAVOR POINTS TO RECHARGE YOUR RAGE OR HEALTH! ![]() Speaking of Combat, please check the Abilities page for ... Abilities and also 3 images of Combat that may be helpful in understanding how Abilities work. Combat can also be a way to try to increase Clan size. If you're on the Combat page, see someone at your Level who only has a few Clan, click on their Vampire name which will take you to their Stats. Now either leave a NICE message on their Wall (1,000 Blood cost) with your invite link OR from the Stats page, click their Vampire name again. You will be taken to the FB page with their "real" name, ID# and you can click to Add Friend and send them a nice message - mark it VW or Vamp Wars, ask if they'd like to add/be added and include your invite link in the message. Now a word about the UNWRITTEN 3 Attack Rule - it's just that. UNWRITTEN!, meaning it doesn't officially exist. No, that doesn't mean you should unload all your rage on a single opponent just because you're getting a ton o Blood or SR from them (like hitting them 10x or more, especially under Level 125 and/or your opponent is obviously Zombie'd) unless you're battling from the Hit List. The only limits there are your health, your rage and whether someone else is attacking and gets the bounty before you. Let me repeat for the people who think this is some oh so romantic, dress up your avatar and anything else is too rough - THERE IS NO THREE ATTACK RULE! And you ARE going to get attacked no matter what else you're doing. If Zynga decided to put a 3 attack Rule in place, the Attack button would disappear after 3 hits, right? It doesn't! The Attack button disappears when: Your health is depleted (under 20); your opponent's health is depleted; you kill or get killed. That's it! So while many people do go by this unwritten 3 attack thing, not everyone will and please don't start whining or Hit Listing because someone attacked you 4 or 5 times. Suck it up, get yourself stronger and remember this is a Game. You are not being attacked personally - your character in the Game is being attacked. What, you've never played a video game where you're killing and being killed? Same principle. There is one difference - there IS a real person on the other side of the screen. So just think about that before you post whining, rude, defamatory, obscene things on your opponent's wall, ok? That can really get you in hot water, not just with your opponent but with their entire Clan (and FB/MS and Zynga should you be reported). You do NOT want to become a Chewtoy or banned from the game. And remember, if you find yourself on the Hit List? Do NOT attack or Hit List the person claiming Bounty. It is nothing personal. Check your Newsfeed and find out who HL'ed you - that's who you want to get things settled with, hopefully by writing on their Wall and finding out why they HL'ed you. You're only going to totally annoy the Bounty collector if you attack or HL them. And you don't want to do that, honest. If they were strong enough to kill you once, they're strong enough to come back and kill you again ... and again ... and again. See why it's a bad idea and actually very bad form to HL the player claiming bounty?
Clan Once you've done your Missions and have no Energy and you have battled and have below 20 health and/or no Rage left, now is the time to check in on your Clan Comments and check your Friend Confirm Requests page for people who have FR and have asked to be added to your Clan. This is an optional (for FB, I don't know that there's a way to do this in MS), but I have found it to be helpful. Have a Notepad, name it VampWars or whatever you will remember. Get the Vampire name and ID number of each member of your Clan. When you have Requests to add, I do them one at a time. That way when I click Accept, the person's ID number will show up in the address bar. I just c&p that next to their Vampire Name. It can be helpful if you need to contact another member of Clan or send them an Ability (Santa Pong). If you start doing this when your Clan is very small, you stand a better chance of keeping up with who is in your Clan. If you come across someone who's not on your list, just put your cursor over their Vampire name and their FB ID# will show at the bottom of the screen. You may have to squint to see it, but it's there and type it in next to their name. |
![]() This image you will see in the upper right corner of every page. Keeping an eye on the stats listed is very important. You will also see a time countdown. That's just how long before the next point or blood income. Now, let's go through each thing in that little "box": |
|
LEVEL - what your current Level is Exp: how many experience points you have and need to get to the next level. You can always click Exp to go to your actual Stats page. You'll see how many more points till the next level, what your Skill Rating (SR) from Combat is, how many missions you've done, how many battles you've won, lost, how many Deaths (you) and how many Kills (them). You'll also see your Blood output and income (will be explained in Abilities and Minions). At the bottom of the Stats page you'll see your current Abilities for Attack, Defense, Movement and your Trophies. Energy: what you need for doing Missions Rage: how many times you can battle - get to 0, no more battling Blood: how much you have on hand - you click on this to deposit or withdraw blood Health: how much you have for battle - must be 20 or more Look just above the Level bar to see if there's Active Magic - click that to see what's happened. |
|
If you click on the little skull or Exp, you will be taken to your Stats Page. This shows the above information along with how many points you need to get to the next Level, your Skill Rating (SR), how many Missions you've done, Combat - your wins, losses, deaths and kills, your Finances - Blood that is Total Income, the amount needed for certain Abilities upkeep, the Blood Flow per hour. You want this in the Green, not Red! If you scroll down, you can also see your Abilities - what and how many of each you own. ![]() |
When you've accumulated the needed amount of Experience Points you will see this screen: ![]() Now, click the Stats link and you get to decide how to allocate the 5 points you get for each level. Rage is a personal preference but remember, that uses 2 of your points for 1 point of rage. Honestly, you're not going to need a lot Rage for a long time, especially if everyone in Clan is spinning the Wheel! Concentrate more on: Getting Health to 110 and leave it there for awhile (you'll be in a slightly better position as you approach Level 70 if your Health isn't too high); depending on your Level 1 or 2 points for Energy so you can do more missions and then Defense and Attack. I keep my Defense slightly higher than my Attack, but whichever works for YOU. The point of the game is not to try to level up as quickly as possible. Going too fast can, in some cases, be detrimental! You're losing out on more missions and of course more needed abilities, more combat stats and in general more game experience. This could hurt you if you're in the game for the long haul (I hope!). So don't run through Levels, take your time and really learn the game, collect your clan and abilities, interact with others. ![]() You can visit the Elders at any time by just clicking on Elders. You start with 20 Favor Points. You receive 1 Favor Point each time you level up. How you use your Favor Points is up to you; I personally don't spend them on, say, dressing my Avatar. I save them for buying the sometimes really good Ltd Ed. Elder Ability. |
